We are pleased to announce that we now seek proposals for the 6th edition of Restoration Asia that will take place in Fukuoka, Japan on September 13th -15th.
This event is in partnership once again with the Focus on Asia Fukuoka International Film Festival and with the endorsement of FIAF.
Restoration Asia VI will again showcase the work of archives, technical service providers and distributors, both from within and outside Asia, to highlight the measures being taken to preserve the audio-visual heritage of Asia. This ongoing technical symposium is designed for archivists, scholars, students and professionals as well as those with a shared passion for the preservation and restoration of audio-visual history in and from Asia.

We invite colleagues who are actively engaged with the acquisition, curation, preservation and restoration of audio-visual materials in, from or of Asia to submit proposals. We are looking for presentations from filmmakers, broadcasters, film distributors, archivists, and scholars that explore the following broad topics:
- possibilities with future technologies in improving audiovisual archiving
- innovations in audiovisual archiving practice in Asia
- relevant case-studies on specific restorations or large-scale migration projects
- considerations and strategies with regards to sustainability and accessibility of audiovisual collections in Asia
(Other related proposals are welcomed for consideration)

‘Early-bird’ registration will be available from 1st- 31st July, full registration from 1st August -6th September. Registration for accepted speakers will be free as it will be for relevant students.
